Thanks Kent. Agree with all you said about the Thai Diner. I was there yesterday and had the catfish. I'd recommend it (the dish and the restaurant) to anybody.

I applaud Endeavor's efforts in the Delta. The riches of the region have been largely forgotten by those who live outside it. Yet the soil, rainfall, infrastructure and transportation advantages means the Delta will play a key role, for good or bad, in feeding and clothing 7 billion people (and counting). Yet a quick drive through the Delta convinces one that agriculture and forestry can't revive the Delta alone. Anything featuring Johnny Cash, Albert King or Levon Helm is bueno, but tourism can't do it alone, either. If the Delta makes a comeback, it will be because a lot of smart, determined, diverse people pool their efforts and ideas. The Funder's Tour sounds like a good start.

On a decidedly petty note: we tend to lump all of East Arkansas in the 'Delta'. In reality, the Grand Prairie, Crowley's Ridge and the Coastal Plain are distinct land masses. Oh, well. God bless the Delta...

Thanks Geniece.
Some the funders are doing great things in the Delta. And if it works there, then it could address similar problems in other economically depressed areas across the nation.

It's very good to see that Southeastern Arkansans are getting some of the much needed publicity they need to better their circumstances. I'm all for helping those in the Delta. I hope the tour and other regional foundations in conjunction with Endeavor Foundation will be a key to their improvement.

Thanks for commenting Kent. Arkansas does have a version of the Blues Highway called the Arkansas Delta Byways Music Heritage Trail. You can check it out at http://www.deltabyways.com/trails-tours/music-heritage-trail.dot

While the trail includes such Blues greats as Al Green, Albert King, and Sonny Boy Williamson, it also covers artists in other genres such as Johnny Cash, Levon Helm, and Charlie Rich (although an argument could be made that these artists sing the Blues as well).

Lots to see and do in the Delta and tourism dollars can go a long way to helping the area economically.

How about a reason why you like Bonefish? Any particular dish that you're fond of?
